Thoha's Story part 4

3 months after ACL reconstruction

Hi all, I wanna share my situation after 3 months. I have been feeling much better when I am doing the physiotherapy, guided. I get the motivation and the situation is well known, no panicks and I am totally cool. What I did was after last month, when I discovered that my knee didn't extend fully, I went to IGMH (Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital) and consulted Dr. Shakeel. He said that my knee is fine and I CAN achieve full extension and flexion. I am very happy with it. Also he explained a lot about ACL reconstruction and we had a nice conversation. After that he prescribed me to do the physiotherapy.

How To Create A Strong Password You Can Remember

Everyone wants to be able to create ultra-powerful passwords, especially for their most sensitive accounts. It’s common knowledge that a strong password can go a long way to preventing identity theft. However, no one wants to struggle to remember their most used passwords. If you have to resort to writing it down and keeping it in your wallet, doesn’t that defeat the purpose?

Finding the balance between strength and ease of recollection can be difficult. Luckily, there are several great techniques that we can utilize to help find that sweet spot. Before we discuss those, let’s review some basics of password strength:

Thoha's Story part 3

2 months after ACL reconstruction:

I am doing basically fine after two months. Doing the physiotherapy as the doctor instucted and I hope everythings going to be fine. The physiotherapy changed from ROM(Range Of Motion) exercises of the knee to muscle strengthening exercises. Also walking long distances has also been included now. Lately my knee has been swolen again. I don't know why but the swelling is big. I informed the doctor and he said it is not a big problem. I have been studying more and more about the surgery, physiotherapy and aftermath  of the

16 Ways to Kick Bad Habits

Verily, the most truthful of speech is the Speech of Allah, and the best guidance is the guidance of Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The worst of affairs are those that are newly introduced, and every newly introduced affair is an innovation, and every innovation is a misguidance, and every misguidance leads to the Hell Fire_

Ya Allah! Open my heart, ease my task and remove the impediments from my speech so that they may understand what I say.
.............................................................

Few things are more demanding than eliminating bad habits, since they are part of our daily routines and personality. It takes days of patience and practice to break old habits.

Thoha's Story part 2

1 month after ACL reconstruction

I have done the knee surgery and I am now 1 month and 5 days post operation. The surgery went smoothly. I will give a short description of the surgery.

The surgery is called arthroscopy (Keyhole surgery). Two holes are drilled at either sides of the knee. From one hole the arthroscope is inserted. This provides the inside view of the knee to the surgeon. And from the other hole the instruments needed are inserted. At first, a diagnosis is made so that the problem areas can be known accurately. In my case Grade1 tear of medial meniscus and Grade3 tear of ACL (Anterior cruciate ligament). The meniscus is torn and smoothened. Next the teared ACl is removed and the areas cleared. It seems that I had notch stenosis too which is a risk factor for ACL injuries. Then a drill is inserted and drilled

The repentance of one who killed a hundred

Abu Sa’eed Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
“There was among the people who came before you a man who killed ninety-nine people. Then he asked about the most knowledgeable person on earth, and was directed to a hermit, so he went to him, told him that he had killed ninety-nine people, and asked if he could be forgiven. The hermit said, ‘No,’ so he killed him, thus completing one hundred. Then he asked about the most knowledgeable person on earth and was directed to a scholar. He told him that he had killed one hundred people, and asked whether he could be forgiven. The scholar said, ‘Yes, what could possibly come between you and repentance? Go to such-and-such a town, for in it there are people who worship Allaah. Go and worship with them, and do not go back to your own town, for it is a bad place.” So the man set off, but when he was halfway there, the angel of death came to him, and the angels of mercy and the angels of wrath began to argue over him. The angels of mercy said: ‘He had repented and

So what exactly is this new Apple A5 chip all about?

One of the key improvements the Apple iPad 2 brings over its predecessor is the new Apple A5 chipset with dual-core CPU. Traditionally, the company saved us the details and didn’t say a word about what’s inside the home-brewed architecture, but here’s what we deduced it to contain.

Now as far as the CPU is concerned, dual-core Cortex-A9 is a perfectly safe bet. The ARM architecture is confirmed by the photo you see above and it would only make sense for Apple to go with the current dual-core version available. We can’t be quite sure about the clock speed, but those things usually run at 1 GHz.

Watch the official iPad 2 overview right here [VIDEO]

Apple iPad 2 has just been announced and Apple rushed out to post a video overview of the device. The iPad 2 features the same 9.7-inch 1024x768px capacitive touchscreen display as the original iPad, but it’s more powerful with the all-new dual-core A5 chip, which includes up to 9x faster graphics chip.

CREATIVE MEMORY

What is Memory?

What ever experience with our senses is stored as a mental image and recorded in the brain and nervous system. When theses mental images are brought into focus in the present, we call this recollection ‘memory’. Memory is life and life is memory. All knowledge is nothing but remembrance.

Memory is history recorded in our brain. Memory is a painter; it paints pictures of the past and of the present day. Put simply, memories are neural traces created in the brain. They are linkages or connections between neurons that constitute the chemical bond caused by strong associations. These chemical links are created by several different kinds of action, the most common being an initial sensory or emotional event, and sustained repetition of that event.

Losing Our World's Languages

Every 14 days a language dies. By 2100, more than half of the more than 7,000 languages spoken on Earth—many of them not yet recorded—may disappear, taking with them a wealth of knowledge about history, culture, the natural environment, and the human brain.

National Geographic's Enduring Voices Project (conducted in collaboration with the Living Tongues Institute for Endangered Languages) strives to preserve endangered languages by identifying language hotspots—the places on our planet with the most unique, poorly understood, or threatened indigenous languages—and documenting the languages and cultures within them.

Why Is It Important?

Language defines a culture, through the people who speak it and what it allows speakers to say. Words that describe a particular cultural practice or idea may not translate precisely into another language. Many endangered languages have rich oral cultures with stories, songs, and histories passed on to younger generations, but no written forms. With the extinction of a language, an entire culture is lost.

Facebook chat in Hotmail now available everywhere

Dick Craddock
Group Program Manager, Hotmail

Today, Facebook chat is available to Hotmail customers worldwide, wherever Facebook is available.

When we first announced the ability to chat with Facebook friends from Hotmail, we were only able to offer this to customers in six regions. Since then, we’ve been working with Facebook to increase availability, and a few weeks ago, we announced that the feature was available globally through Messenger. Today this is available around the world through Hotmail too. And while Gmail beat us to bringing their own chat into the inbox, we have now gone a step further and brought both our own chat and Facebook chat into your inbox. Starting now, we will be displaying notifications of this update in Hotmail.

First Ever STEREO Images of the Entire Sun

On Feb. 6th, *Sun*day—NASA released the first global view of our sun, courtesy of a pair of space probes collectively called Solar TErrestrial RElations Observatory, or STEREO.

Launched in October 2006, the two probes left Earth together but then separated and headed for opposite sides of the solar orb.

On February 6, STEREO-A and STEREO-B finally reached opposition, when each spacecraft was aimed at a different hemisphere.

In this configuration, the two probes allowed scientists to simultaneously see both sides of the sun for the first time in human history.

Thoha's Story part 1

Hi all,

I am going to share one of my personal stories with you. I hope some of you will benefit from this and I really really want comments from any of you...

Its about my knee problem. I got it during the futsal practice for the CHSE tournament. That day we were having a practice match. I got on the pitch in the last half and I wanted to play a nice game. One of the sadest things in my life happened because I pushed my body in fact my knee too far. I was running and I tried to accelerate even faster for a 50-50 oppportunity. Suddenly I heard a "pop" noise from my knee and when I remembered I was sitting on the ground. I remained there for a while because I couldn't bear my weight on my knee. The pain was severe and there was swelling all around my knee.My knee could bend about 30 degrees because it was locked.

I went to the doctor after about a week when the knee didnt get better. The  doctor told there was fluid and
blood inside the knee. So he put a syringe inside and sucked up the blood. I bed-rested for two days. After that also my knee locked so I went to the doctor again. He checked and told to do a physiotherapy exercise. I asked him whether I can play soccer again or not. He said it will be allright to go once the knee is a little better.

Why do women cry?

A little boy asked his mother, "Why are you crying?"

"Because I'm a woman," she told him.

"I don't understand," he said.

His Mom just hugged him and said, "And you never will."

Later the little boy asked his father, "Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?"

"All women cry for no reason," was all his dad could say.

The little boy grew up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.

Finally he met an old man who would surely know the answer.

Nexus S bug forces reboot on phone calls

The Nexus S, Google's flagship successor to the Nexus One, has barely been out a month and there's already a major forced reboot bug found in it, which Google was recently forced to admit.

A user reported the problem at the end of December, where they were getting random forced reboots, usually while making a call. Dozens of other people reported the same problem, sometimes when making phone calls over 10 minutes and other times less than five minutes.

The problem appears to be contained to either the Nexus S itself or Android Gingerbread 2.3.1, build GRH78. Since The Nexus S is the only device that currently has the latest Android release it could potentially be a much bigger issue when updates start rolling out for other phones.

A Google employee responded to the difficulty recently, stating: “So we've successfully reproduced this issue and are in the process of investigating with Samsung. I'll provide updates as soon as I have them.”

Be Aware of knee injuries !

In 2003, patients made approximately 19.4 million visits to physicians' offices because of knee problems. It was the most common reason for visiting an orthopaedic surgeon.
The knee is a complex joint with many components, making it vulnerable to a variety of injuries. Many knee injuries can be successfully treated without surgery, while others require surgery to correct. Here are some facts about the knee from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Knee Anatomy and Function

The knee is the largest joint in the body, and one of the most easily injured. It is made up of the lower end of the thighbone (femur), which rotates on the upper end of the shinbone (tibia), and the knee cap (patella), which slides in a groove on the end of the femur. The knee also contains large ligaments, which help control motion by connecting bones and by bracing the joint against abnormal types of motion. Another important structure, the meniscus, is a wedge of soft cartilage between the femur and tibia that serves to cushion the knee and helps it absorb shock during motion.

Common Knee Injuries

Many athletes experience injuries to their knee ligaments. Of the four major ligaments found in the knee, the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and the medial collateral ligament (MCL) are often injured in sports. The posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) may also be injured.
  • ACL injury

Generous lawyer

A local United Way office realized that the organization had never received a donation from the town's most successful lawyer. The person in charge of contributions called him to persuade him to contribute.

"Our research shows that out of a yearly income of at least $500,000, you give not a penny to charity. Wouldn't you like to give back to the community in some way?"

The lawyer mulled this over for a moment and replied, "First, did your research also show that my mother is dying after a long illness, and has medical bills that are several times her annual income?"

Take care of your hair

We have about 100,000 hairs on our heads. Each hair shaft has three layers, with the cuticle, or outside layer, protecting the two inner layers.

Shiny hair is a sign of health because the layers of the cuticle lie flat and reflect light. When the scales of the cuticle lie flat they overlap tightly, so the inner layers are well protected from heat, sun, chlorine, and all the other hazards that can come from living in our environment. When hair is damaged, though, the scales may separate and hair can become dry. Because the scales on dry hair don't protect the inner two layers as well, hair can break and look dull.
